July 13th Program

Melinda Bula

Melinda Bula lives in El Dorado Hills, California and has been sewing since she was a young girl.   Melinda has been in love with fabric all of her life and knew when she was 16 years old that she was going to be an  artist.

Her Fabulous Fusible Flowers quilts are unique. With the wonderful look of a painting, she uses fabric and thread to create beautifully artistic quilts.  She has been lecturing and teaching, which she really loves. Creating and designing is an obsession with Melinda and whether it is fabric, wearables or quilts, it is her passion.

Come join us for the fabulous speaker!

Nick and the programs team!

Workshop

Date: Sunday, July 12, 2009

Time: 9 am - 3:30 pm

Location: SFV Japanese American Community Center

Topic - Fabulous Fusible Flowers

Project  Sunflower.

Learn the basic for building a Fusible Flower quilt. The class works from the same  flower pattern. You will learn the steps of developing a flower art quilt by how color works to make a flower look real, how to use the fusible and lay out of design. I encourage creativity while assisting those who may feel timid about color and design. All skill levels can master these flowers and make them their own. The students in class will get 80% of their flower done in class. Renegade Thread Play is covered and demonstrated in class. $12 pattern fee
